BBQ Cheesy Grits Bowls for Mama Bear, Papa Bear, a BBQ Cheesy Grits Bowls for Mama Bear, Papa Bear, and Baby Bear! Cue the theme song from Disney’s “Goldie and Bear” Show 🎶(or don’t actually because I already can’t get it out of my head despite extreme efforts.) Maybe it’s a Carolina girl thing to love grits? When I lived in LA for 9 years I found out that not only do they not serve grits anywhere but you can’t even buy them at the grocery stores. Come on people! In my opinion, grits are not just for breakfast but make a delicious base for a plant powered bowl! Here’s how we put these bad boys together... 1. Cook grits according to package but make sure to use unsweetened, unflavored plant milk and vegan butter. If you want them cheesy, mix in nutritional yeast or your favorite vegan cheese towards the end of the cooking time so it melts down. (We love using @violife_foods Cheddar Shreds) 2. Cook veggies! We cook down collard greens with veggie broth, smoked salt, and apple cider vinegar. We sauté or air fry okra with a little vegan butter, tamari, and you guessed it, more garlic. We air fry or bake mushrooms tossed in BBQ sauce (there are so many healthier BBQ Sauce brands out there now without high fructose corn syrup or you can make your own tahini BBQ sauce from the recipe in our free “Creamy Cheesy Plants” Flipbook) 3. Air Fry or Bake some of our “Chicken-less Nugget Bites!” Swipe the image for the full recipe. 4. Put it all together and drizzle with more BBQ Sauce! Get ready for a flavor explosion that rivals your two year old’s outlandish ability to destroy your perfectly organized playroom in approximately 1.7 seconds. Tag us if you make your own Plant Based Southern BBQ Grits Bowls! We want to see your creations! #raisedonplants #roprecipes #ropfamily

There are very few people on this earth who don’ There are very few people on this earth who don’t enjoy the garlicky, creamy deliciousness of fettuccine alfredo and peas! Of course this is one of those staples that you think you’ll never be able to enjoy again if you start eating plant based. WRONG. We got you girl! Our @raisedonplants take on this traditional comfort food is oil free, vegan, gf and made with roasted cauliflower, pine nuts, plenty of garlic, white cooking wine, fresh squeezed lemon juice and some other delicious additions. When we go for a meal like this we GO FOR IT meaning we use imported Italian fettuccine from Italy (not gf but it doesn’t hurt my stomach because it’s straight from Italy!) but you could absolutely just choose your favorite gf quinoa or lentil pasta or even use zucchini zoodles as the base! If you already receive our weekly email this recipe was delivered straight to your inbox on Friday! If you’re not already a part of the #ropfamily you can sign up via the link in our bio and you will get our free Flipbook and this past Friday’s emailed delivered straight to you 😊 (And if you have any trouble at all finding it just send us a message and we will hook you up as always!) We hope this helps you get more nutrients into your family at dinner time and makes you feel like your favorite person is giving you a big hug when you are eating it! #raisedonplants #roprecipes
“If you want to change the world, go home and lo “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family”. - Mother Teresa Anyone else have a stage five mommy clinger attached to their body at all times right now? 🙋🏻‍♀️ If she could literally crawl back into my belly she currently would. As hard as it is to be productive with a 97th percentile for height two year old attached to my leg or hand at all hours of the day, it’s also reminding me why I always wanted to be a mom. We both crave each other. Don’t get me wrong I am definitely jealous of Jake’s ability to move freely through the house, use the bathroom, eat, etc. (you know the basics) without a tiny human running after him screaming “wait mammmmaaaa”... but we are also making such special memories these days as she helps me do my makeup, pick out clothes, cook, clean, fold laundry, and “play animals” on the floor of her room. One day I know I’ll miss this so I’m trying to memorize how her little hand feels in mine and how she just hugs me tight every so often throughout the day saying “I love you so much mama.” It makes everything else on my mind or to do list melt away in that moment because at the end of the day mamas this is our most important job. To be present and love our babies hard so that they can learn to spread love, kindness, and patience to others. It starts with us. So free yourself of trying to always get everything done. Let them be little, let them hold onto you a little tighter and a little longer. We are shaping their hearts and your sweet baby girl or boy is going to make the world a happier place because of it. 💗🙏🏻 #raisedrude #raisedonplants #ropfamily
Fact. Plant based sushi is taking over the world. Fact. Plant based sushi is taking over the world. Well, our world at least. And we want more people to learn how simple, delicious, and fun it can be to put this on rotation in the meal planning for your family! Jake, being from California, used to almost put an all you can eat sushi restaurant out of business in one meal. We went on our very first date when we were 18 to Ami Sushi in Westwood and before I was 100% plant based, sushi was the last thing lingering since I’m pretty sure I had an emotional connection to it from our years at UCLA. But, we both finally learned that when we “craved sushi” we really just wanted that sushi rice and tamari flavor comb with the creamy avocado and the crunch of the cucumber. When we tried our first plant based sushi we mind blowingly didn’t even miss the fish! Now we save plant based sushi nights for date nights at home or a fun family activity since Leea loves a plant based sushi roll! Our favorite combo is oyster mushrooms cooked in a sweet mirin sauce, avocado, and cucumber (and Jake adds Spicy Mayo) but there are so many combos you can try. Here is the recipe for our favorite sauce! Jake’s Sweet “Eel Sauce”
1/4 Cup Mirin
1/4 Cup Tamari
1/4 Cup Organic Cane Sugar
Add all ingredients to a stovetop sauce pan and stir ingredients until it begins to steam. Don't bring to a boil. Let it steam for a few minutes and then remove from heat. Allow to cool in the fridge and you will have that classic eel sauce from sushi restaurants. If you’re totally not convinced yet that you can still enjoy sushi without the seafood, let us help you see the light! You’ll not only be so much healthier for it by avoiding high levels of mercury and heavy metals but you’ll also help to preserve our oceans so our children actually get to experience a living coral reef with fish in their lifetime! Check out our plant based sushi highlight above or reach out if you’d like the recording of the most recent plant based sushi meal prep party and the full recipe packet to go along with it! #raisedonplants
